The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation.
The NRA FIRST Steps Pistol Shooting Course introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely.
Cost: $150 (covers learning materials and range fees)

The fundamentals of shooting
Pistol inspection and maintenance
This course is 3 hours and is conducted in a classroom and actual live fire at the firing range.
During the course, a Top Caliber Tactical NRA-Certified Instructor will validate comprehension and application of gun safety rules; range protocol; proper handling; loading and unloading procedures; application of pistol shooting fundamentals; stable shooting positions; live fire; and a final shooting qualification.
Students will receive reference books, take a NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.
Students need to bring the following
Students can bring their own firearm, along with at least 150 rounds of ammunition.
They should also bring the user manual for the handgun.
A firearm and ammunition (.22 rimfire) can be provided for an additional $25 cost and with advanced notice.
No Ammunition Allowed in the Classroom
